Australia 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Stornoway Grey
Bright Victoria

We are holidaying in Bright and enjoying the autumn weather and have done a couple of trips through the surrounding mountains . The first trip was to Falls Creek alpine village and we were lucky enough to see the first snow for the season . Another very enjoyable trip was from Myrtleford to lake Buffalo back to Porepunkah via a couple of logging tracks that cross behind Mt Buffalo , While the tracks are not very difficult they provide some spectacular views of Mt Buffalo and the water falls that cascade down the back side of the mountain ,however after 2 days of rain and a rise of almost 1000 mtr care was needed https://www.freel2.com/gallery/albums/usht...C_0378.JPG

You should take a drive up towards Mt Hotham and into Dargo High Plains Rd. The track to Mt Blue Rag runs off to the right, it's reasonably easy with spectacular views. Pretty steep in places.

Thanks Mike I might try it tomorrow if it does not rain again ,rained all night last night ,not sure if that would effect track as the logging tracks are still passable but very slippery

In general, that track has a rocky base, but there are spots where puddles cover the whole track if there has been rain which is a bit unnerving when you can't see the bottom. If that happens, this guy shows you what to do.....

I cant imagine that method catching on half way up Mt Hotham at any time of the year . Rolling with laughter I suppose we should make some allowance,he was driving a Toyota after all .

That puddle is at Lithgow in NSW. It's the powerline track at what they call the mud flats. The crazy thing is the road is 20 metres behind him....there's no need to drive through the puddle at all. Guys line up for it all weekend though. Personally, I hate mud puddles.
