Door Ignition Locks Corsa D

The wife has lost her car key at work and its not been found/handed in

I have just got back fro taking the spare

What im thinking is if someone has found the key, they can use this to steal the car, but i can have it removed from the car, but this wont stop them using it to open the door and gaining access

So vauxhall state £300 +vat for parts alone

eBay have 2 x keys, 1 door barrell and steering barrel, i then believe they just need programing

any thoughts? or ring insurance company and take the hit

Worry is the imigrants will have found it, know which car and will steal it or from it, hense it not been handed in Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

What would be the hit?
£300 + VAT + labour seems to me to be a worthwhile claim - even with an excess you will have OEM locks and peace of mind without pfaffing around buying and re-programming 2nd hand ones.
Do you have protected no claims? No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

Yes full protected

Going to see what goes on over the next day or so. See if they turn up at work

Then access the best option, keys cover etc on either home or car policies

Thing is I've seen barrels for both the door and ignition for £35 at breakers listing on eBay and then I wonder if the barrels swap to new ones, transponder into the new key, or swap blades and then it's just the one key programmed for £70, job done for £100 max Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Can't help you with the techie stuff I'm afraid but I know what I would do to get it off my agenda, have peace of mind and when it comes to resell time have OEM kit fitted by Vauxhall.
Protected NCB is only of use when you use it Cool
(I bet the house insurance reject a claim for a lost key on the grounds that the car is specifically insured elsewhere) No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

just got back from seeing a friend and his computer, lost key deprogrammed, so can't be used to start it, but can still gain access

new locks bought, so if key doesn't turn up tomorrow, these will be installed Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
