Newbie - first landrover

Hi, I've just bought my first landrover (FL2, TD4-e) and found this site very helpful in helping me come to that decision. The car is high mileage, but FDSH and one owner. Drives beautifully.

These forums helped me find a good independant garage http://www.theparksidegarage.co.uk that were offering a very reasonable services and only £400 for the dreaded 150K service - before that I'd heard much scarier figures. The mechanic also gave lots of advice and encouragement about the prospective purchase. Knowing there was a good, reasonably priced garage not to far away and that even the really big service still only cost the kind of money I'd routinely paid for servicing on my last motorbike (almost every year) really put my concerns to rest and sealed the deal.

Have always fancied and landrover since I was a child. Really glad to have taken the plunge. Only driven the car for an hour or so yesterday, but so far, I'm loving the experience.

Best,

Tom. Landrover Freelander 2, 2.2TD4-E manual XS. New to me at 113k miles, after 1 careful owner.

Congratulations on your purchase. There's a wealth of knowledge here and hope it helps you keep running costs down... but you've already done that with your good service deal! Enjoy Smile
