The dates and mileage the vehicle has been serviced are as followed:-

- 18.12.2012 / 15802 miles – 1st Service

- 06.09.2013 / 31503 miles – 2nd service

- 30.06.2014 / 48407 miles – 3rd service

- 27.02.2015 / 64952 miles – 4th service

- 16.09.2016 / 83517 miles – 5th service

Assuming the last date is 2015 not 2016 the car looks as if it went over 18.5 k before its last service. Yes its a LR service history but I would not run my vehicle past the 15,000 between oil services. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

but for some people that are too busy to get the car into service bang on time for the service date/mileage

I agree that 18k is too long a time between services, but then really so is 15k. An extra 3k is not going to make huge amounts of difference.

The fact that someone has forked out the prices or service plan for a full history is at least one good sign.

The price fully reflects the mileage and condition of the car, and if the OP is only going to do minimal mileage then it will almost even out over time.

Personally I would go for it at that price on a 2012MY, BUT make allowances that some things may need attention in the near future. Even spending £1000 on new tyres, brakes and hoses all round he still ends up a cheap car for the year.

yeh that all sounds pretty bad to be fair.

Had a similar dealer near me who had a showroom full of very high end cars. My girlfriend traded in her BMW to them and bought a smaller car. They were a nightmare and just after we got it all sorted they closed shop overnight and reopened the next day on the far side of town under a different name. They upped and moved several times over the next few months.

I may have to revise my earlier posts based on those reviews Laughing

Sutty86's personal photos of the car show a capital D after the price. Is it a category D vehicle? Why didn't the dealer pressure wash the underside and engine bay, are they hiding something. Question Question 2013 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black

What is the state of the other cars on the forecourt with regards to cleanliness.

If they had put the effort in and done a full steam clean inside and out you'd probably have posted 'have I just bought the best value Freelander ever'.

I would share your concerns especially if you are like me and know very little about car mechanics. But I have the same concerns if I went to a main dealer and purchased something.

Honestly thanks for the heads up Id seen reviews like that but wanted other opinion I did say I thought mot may be dodgy.
I checked another freelander opposite was cleaner underneath.

The garage has literally hundreds of cars on there site they list 500.

It's a multi story car park full of cars...

I think the service history was a typo as they seemed really helpful.

To be honest I think I'm going to steer clear and look at a freelander from a garage which offers at least three months warranty.

And seem like decent folk

I've read some horror story's on the garage in question.

I would of.bought if I could afford the 300 for the inspection but then it would need cleaning etc
Something I don't think the company will do I'm afraid.

I asked for a test drove and they said as long as I get this finance in place first....

I'm looking at three other older freelanders tomorrow,
Do you guys mind if I add photos /video again and I will take advice on checking things I forgot to otherwise.

Thanks everyone

Find the Honest John web site and read through that re the does and dont's.

He also gives a lot of advice of what to do if you do get a pup.

Even buying new is sometimes a stressful experience, I had to reject a very expensive brand new BMW convertible several years at 3 hours of ownership and the BMW dealer was a Censored until I said OK, enough is enough and I will see you in court.

Good Luck. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

i would pull up the gaitor around gearstick and have a look, you should see dirt and possibly rust on brackets if it's been in flood. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

I would walk away. Any seller knows the sale would be easier if it were clean. I've run a FL1 off road many times and the engine bay is similar to what I would expect if mud was washed up into the engine bay (splashed up by belts/wheels or natural force due to depth etc) after a bit of a wipe over on certain area's like the plastic cover. Even if they were busy and work on the basis of clean it when someone is coming to see it, they should be able to clean it if they wanted to. If they were honest they would be embarrassed at the state and tell you it would be cleaned before you buy. The mud inside could simply be water getting in when wading, which drained out later on, with a bit of carpet cleaning. Lift the carpet (driver foot well) to see what you find. Also look at the foam/finishing under the seats as this is difficult to get to to clean without removing the seats. It may be cheap but it's priced to sell in the condition it's in. It's a lot of money to spend and if an AA inspection is financially difficult then so is the risk. The FL2 can operate happily off road but there are many others out there for sale too. Hippo's videos - Honorary Tratterer

Have you tried Farm Direct Produce of Ombersley? I drive round those lanes as just down the road from them.

Emailed them buddy but no reply.
Like I said gonna walk away as it would only take them an hour to clean it.
AA couldn't inspect condition it's in.
And it's filthy inside not fit for my family

I said in my earlier post to trust your gut and that I'd take a punt.
However, I posted that before seeing your detailed pictures.
Now I've changed my mind.
I won't walk away, I'd sprint away!!
Two reasons:
Firstly, the mud - looking underneath at the mud & debris and his it's attached, plus the mud in the air vents;
I'd say this FL2 has been sat on a river for bed for some time.
Maybe the were fortunate enough to get it running and that's why it's up for sale.

Secondly, the dealer - do a 'Google' of these guys and it's all the same "don't touch them with a barge pole".
They used to trade as Keighley car centre at one point before going bust - again that had very bad reviews.

My advice, stay well clear. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.
