So, Obama say the UK will be at the back of the queue when any trade deals are being made with Europe if we are not 'in'? I'll bet we won't be back of any queue when the USA needs help when they next invade another oil rich country. The . If ever I was wavering in a decision, that's made my mind up.

I agree with you 100% Steve, no other country rushes to help them out, yes our armed forces is drasticley reduced and small compaired to theres but I think were the brains behind most successful operations.

Obama was clearly well briefed by Camaroon and his team. What American would use the word "queue". Get back in line, man!

Whilst NATO stays intact Putin ain't going to do anything apart from a little sabre rattling. The EU doesn't have a standing army and most of the sovereign states have limited capability with Germany, I believe, unable to provide any assistance whatsoever by way of their constitution.

I don't usually read the Guardian but this is an interesting view on Putin and don't forget that he is also still active in Ukraine and a few other Balkan states. NATO is really a talking shop.

Don't forget that Obama is first, foremost and only interested in what he thinks is best for America. Just about the only country in the EU that he has any sort of influence over or friendship with is the good ol' UK. Naturally he wants to keep up with what's going on in Europe and we're his only source of info. He sees himself as the puppet master over us anyway - Blair encouraged that view and Cameron isn't any better. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

Unusually badly put remark from Obama, he would have been better of putting a positive slant on us staying in than a negative consequential slant on us leaving. The US was never ever going to voice a favourable opinion on us leaving, it's of no advantage to them at all, and would harm their relationship with the EU if they said anything else.

I wouldn't expect Obama to say anything different, for a start he has to do what's best for his country (that's his job) and in this case it suits the US to have us working on the inside trying to keep Europe together. Remember that is no such thing as Foreign Policy, just Foreign Interests. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
