2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black
A new owner - well one's wife is anyway

Just signed to buy an 08 HSE today to replace the Prius that we bought accidentally for my wife (it made her sciatica very painful). Auto in black with privacy glass and mesh trim (not the plastic wood - phew!), 64k miles. Should be getting at the weekend I think - maybe I can have the D4 back now! Hoping it will be be as comfy for her in a couple of weeks' time as it was on the test drive (that's where the Prius went wrong)

A 2 Land Rover family! Not sure if I will ever get any photos up - not good at getting that sort of nonsense to work...

Good stuff Mr North, hope she enjoys it.
Just make sure you pop in over here now and again to hear how reliable they are versus their bigger brother. Wink FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

Good choice Thumbs Up

The D4 and FL2's driving positions are uncannily similar, so I expect she'll be fine Very Happy

Mistakenly would be a much better word Embarassed - the Prius made her sciatica flare up extremely painfully within a week, so it was a mistake to buy it / the effect was like an accident blah...

Anyway, we collected it yesterday and she loves it having done an 80 mile round trip yesterday evening. I am a bit bothered about a bit of a whine from the rear (that she cannot hear) and the tyres are all crap makes I have never heard of (will put some decent ones on before winter or maybe sooner) but it feels very solid (no creaks or rattles). I just drove home from the garage (6 miles) so my experience is a bit limited so far

Have added a photo to the gallery (not sure why - it's not like you haven't all seen a black FL2 before!)

Oh, forgot to say the children prefer the D4 cdue to its extra space!

I don't think it's the tyres - it sounds mechanical, quite similar to the sort of sound I remember from a couple of cars where a wheel bearing needed replacing

We had the whine which turned out to be xfer box plus rear diff then it came back after 500 miles and this time it was a rear wheel bearing and after a couple of thousand miles came back again but this time noisy tyres. To me they all sounded the same. However if you have just bought the car you need to get this fixed by the dealer as it will only get worse. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
