Try cleaning the outside of the windscreen in the area of the interior mirror(top centre) a small amount of debris, even a perfectly positioned dead fly will obscure the sensor and switch on the lights |

I thought the light sensor was in the middle of the dashboard next to the windscreen (at the bottom) ______________________

The sensor on the dash is for the key fob operation as I understand. You press your key fob to unlock the car, this sensor recieves the info and unlocks the car, as if by magic !!

If the FL2 is anything like other cars I've had, the one on the dash is part of the climate control. The car knows if the sun is beating down on you and adds a little extra ac. 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue.. |

It was in the morning 7am and going home 4.15pm. DAYLIGHT hours. So the auto lights were playing up. Seem to have rectified themselves for now.

I've sometimes found that if you leave the lights on manually on for a while, then switch to auto, they stay on wher normally they wouldn't. Admittedly, this test is even less scientific than waving my hands around in front of the sensors but it seemed to work. 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue.. |
