So we are touring again this year, but this time for 9 weeks, setting off the begining of May and returning in July. Two of us and our dog taking the tunnel to Calais, down through France into Italy, across to Slovenia then into Austria before returning via Germany and Belgium.
No sites booked and we'll stay where the sun is shining and move on where its not. Looking for more of this sunshine and space like it was in Austria and Slovenia last year.

What are your plans with your caravan?

I wish I was retired...have a great trip, we are venturing to France later in the year with the Freelander, not towing anything but looking forward to the trip.

Thanks for the good wishes, early retirement came at the right time, both financially and because I was off with working. I love France and its laid back attitude to life, enjoy your trip also.

As our trips to France are limited to 3 weeks, we no longer take the van but use chalets or mobile homes in the areas we enjoy, the cost is very similar. One hopes by September the EU problem will be sorted and we can still bring back next years wine supply at the present rules, unlikely but more advantaged rules would suit  my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Nipping to Saint Tropez for two weeks at the end of June - first time abroad with the new van, and the dog.

Also nipping to San Sebastian in about three weeks, but without the van, working, but would rather drive than fly, after all it's only 1,000 miles or so each way.

Best time of year so you don't have to put up with all the riff-raff & just enough time to de-stress!

Was in Italy & Germany for 4 months in 2014, 2010 & 2011 for about 3 months each. A bit of Australia this year, but most likely next year 4 months in Europe, also to see 2 new additions to the family! Unfortunately we have to hire a car as we can't drive from Australia!

Drive to France (660 miles each way) two or three times a year fly the rest. Always use the autoroute and pay the toll as it's so much quicker , although if not in a hurry there is some stunning countryside especially to the east (mountains) and south (mountains and coast)
