Breakdown cover

First car for a while that isn't new or new enough to have cover with it! Any recommendations? AA vs RAC?

It seems I have found a deal too good to miss. Through work I can get roadside, recovery and home cover from the RAC for £80 when it should be £110 normally Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Seems good to me The Doctor. I'm with the AA and pay around £60 per annum for roadside only. Did get a deal to add a 2nd driver for a tenner which sorts out the nightmare daughter

I think they also do a parts and labour cover for around £80 a year too. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

We used to use Green Flag as part of a bank account "perk", but when this was removed we changed on renewal this year to Start Rescue.
They give an app for the phone, you don't need to know where you are if you break down as the app reports your position to them.
Haven't had to use them (nor Green Flag)so no actual experience.

They are cheaper and seem to have good reviews, but UK only.

I went to a broken-down on a fast, major road last week. Mum, dad, 5 year old, 6 month old. We towed them to a lay-by to await their recovery. Green Flag turned up - we left. What then happened..

Green Flag couldn't fix it so called for recovery and left them there. Recovery turned up FOUR HOURS later - even then with the wrong truck. In that time a passing truck shed part of its load and smashed the rear screen of their car. Kids no doubt terrified.

We re-attended. Could not believe the same car was still in the lay-by all that time later. Disgusting service.

Green Flag would not get a penny of my money.
