United Kingdom 2015 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Fuji White
Back in the fold.....

Well, after 2 months or so without my old Freelander 2 (2012 XS) which I part exchanged for an Audi A6 I started missing the Freelander. I have an 03 Disco 2 which I have been using for work on shorter journeys. I've since moved sites to one a bit further away and don't want to mess the Audi up too much. Using the Disco was hard work to be honest and it's got quite a few issues (like they do) and needs a bit spending on it.

I thought the best solution would be to part ex the Disco for an older Freelander, but wanted a decent spec. Found a few settled on this one which I went to see yesterday.

Its a 58 plate but a 2009 one. 2 owners from new, last owner had it for 5 years. Full LR service history and there's a copy of the job list for every service. Last serviced a month ago. It's done just under 90,000 miles. Drove really well considering the age and mileage. Got a fair price for the Disco when I explained the issues so all in all pretty happy.

Will post more pics when I get it. Wasn't away for long!

Dan

I picked it up on Wednesday evening. Got to say I'm seriously impressed. For an older car than my last one with a lot more miles, it feels and drives great. How on earth I managed without an armrest I don't know! I should have gone for the HSE previously.

Put my mats and boot tray in and torn whether to put the seat covers on as I love the leather. Replaced the old jack with my brand new one and foam insert so I'll be flogging the old jack shortly.

Things I've noticed so far are:

Seems slightly quicker and more economical than my 2012 XS. Maybe this is due to no DPF?

MPG display on the dash has less functions than the old one, and I'm sure it used to show the time there?

The sat nav is very similar, but doesn't display the snail trail dots of where you've been and it's more long winded to access the RDS function. Contemplating an update, but not sure whether this would sort that?

All in all, great to have a Freelander again!
