Jump starter

Due to having flattened the battery by leaving the radio on I have decided it is about time I invested in a jump starter.
Looking for recommendations as one reads of so many being total rubbish?

Bult my own from with a couple of 18AH SLA batteries in parallel (with a plug to separate the batteries to prevent slow battery drain). A lot cheaper than the off the shelf rubbish. 540 amp 5 seconds at a time or 150 amps continuous for 5 minutes.

I have another set with a 175 amp Anderson plug on the end. Clamps are 2mm thick solid copper, Utilux 200 amp H811/2, not the pretend rubbish.

Get some proper cables that have minimal resistance. If you have 3 metre cables, the resistance is over 6 metres as you have 2 x 3 metres!
