How sure are you that it's not tyres - does it vary with road surface?

How worn are the tyres? I had awful noise from a set of Wranglers when down to about 4mm.....new tyres and all quiet. Don't ask me why but... 2011 SD4 HSE Auto (Previously 2007 TD4 XS Manual) |

I changed out a rear wheel bearing which made no difference to my rear noise, ditching the Wranglers cured it immediately😀 (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

I would say that it is the tyres as humming noise is speed dependent and also diffs whine. |

The tyres are down to about 4/5 mm and are General Grabber a/t's.
