Heater fault causing battery flattening

Has everyone had their letter from LR mentioning the series electrical fault with condensation occurring inside the booster electrical heater causing short circuits, battery drain and risk of electrical fire?

I had two unexplained totally flat batteries before this fault was corrected. The LR call-out service was prompt and polite but the chap clearly suspected me of leaving the lights on or some other kind of yuppie nincompoopery Shocked

Took the old girl in for a repair, took ten minutes, all they did was disconnect the heater, fabulous as we are now going into winter. The new part will be some time coming, good job I have heated seats.

Still loving my FL2, despite the niggles. Can't bear to get back in the wife's Audi but had to while she was being taken back to the dealer. The car, I mean, not the wife... Rolling with laughter

Hi

See the tread headed up RECALL - There are about 13 pages of comments!!

I phoned my dealer as the letter arrived few weeks ago to be told they had already removed the fuse when my car was in for another repair. Do'nt think we need to worry too much in this country about winter coming as I had not realised the Aux heater had been disconnected. Just rely on the heated seats to warm my bum until the engine warms up enough.

Sorry to hear you have a couple of flat ones, good to know what the cause was though

Happy motoring
