Are slipping clutches now a thing of the past?

I have lived with my slipping clutch since it started at about 27k miles and now have 55k on the clock. I held off changing it because I saw no value in using the same poorly spec'd parts it had when it came out the factory and I simply adjusted my driving to reduce the occurrence. I now feel my DMF is on the way out as the vibration level at idle seems higher now than I think it was previously. Does anyone know if LR have fixed the known issue of clutch slip at 2k rpm in 5th or 6th gear and issued uprated parts?
Thx,
Nigel

It would not surprise me if it were the same parts from when it was introduced! Rolling Eyes I expect someone will be along shortly to put us in the picture! 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

When i had my clutch replaced under warranty because of slipping as you have had the LR mechanic said it had been replaced with a modified unit because the existing auto adjuster sticks and causes the problem.
Thats what i was told when i asked.

August 2012 when they did it.
That was on my old 2010 FL2 which failed at 50000 miles.
I have a new one now, well 2015 one so i dont know how well its gone since they did it of course.

My son thought he had a clutch slip in one of our Freelanders about 30k miles ago. He thought it was when it went into 5th or 6th. I spoke to the dealer service manager and he said to keep an eye on it but note that the rev counter can sometimes gives a misleading (ie delayed) reading when changing gear and he preferred to check clutches by the way the car pulls away in 2nd. Well as I say that was 30k miles ago and the clutch was still going OK when we traded it in. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
