I wonder if many people followed the recent series on BBC4 called Trapped? It's about a murder in a remote Icelandic town cut off by snow. Interesting thing was that everyone had 4x4 out of necessity, the official police cars seem to be Kia Sportages otherwise it was a mixture of old Isuzus, Subaru, Audi and one LR Disco. I guess Snow tyres were standard. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I watched it and very much enjoyed it. I was taking note of the 4X4s used too.
I expected a scene where by the Disco broke down in a blizzard and everyone died.
No Freelanders I could see.

It can get a bit wintery here but nothing like Iceland. I too was looking at the 4x4s and noticed they tended to favour oversized tyres (possibly studded) whereas here we tend to go for taller, skinnier winter tyres. I guess that's to cope with deep snow rather than ice. I notice too that they don't bother to grit their roads.

I remember a while back there was a Freel2 member who lived in Iceland and posted some amazing photos of the landcsape.

Certainly a series worth watching. driving on the right side

Yes but did you understand it? These Scandinavian dramas (like The Bridge, Borgen etc) are an order of magnitude more complicated and interconnected that the usual crap from the USA that we see on our screens.  3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Ha ha, yes I *think* I understood it all!
I enjoyed Beck, the Bridge etc too. I love the sound of the language and I'm sure the size and choice of font of the subtitles makes it easier to watch. I rarely realise that I'm reading the dialogue.
I also like the trend for them to show 2 episodes back to back. Long enough to get immersed in the story but not so long that you feel you've had a binge.
