Service Department have advised that the knocking noise that I am getting is coming from the drivers side rear door body skirt. They removed and 're-sellotaped' it back on!! Still knocks but not as much as before. Was advised to take back to dealer who supplied the car if it continues. |

Shut the back door today and the body skirt almost fell off! Taped it on with electrical tape and contacted service department who are sorting it tomorrow. (does anyone make double sided gaffer tape?) Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

Except bugs, and then you cannot see them! How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Before taking FL2 into the dealers decided to remove electrical tape and put the body skirting in the boot. The knocking noise was still there which 'common sense' would suggest therefore that the skirt is not causing the noise. I reported this to service reception who had my car taken into the workshop for the skirt to be stuck back on. I was sent on my way but as I left the knocking noise was there so turned back and had to ask for a technician to accompany me for a test drive to hear the knocking noise. FL2 now has to be left with them for a day next week for the rear passenger door to be dismantled!
