New Owner Questions

I see a lot about the different ICE systems, can anyone tell me what mine is, its Branded Alpine on the front speakers and on the build sheet it says PREMIUM ICE BRANDED????

Also what is a PTC Electric Heater?
also says LESS CONSOLE MODULE PLUG-IN Whats this? can it be retrofitted?

Also Twin Gass Strut Assist??

Its a 2009 FL2 HSE Auto Diesel

I stand to be corrected but....

I have a 2010 HSE with Alpine premium system. As I understand it the 'premium' means it has Dolby pro-logic 13:1 surround sound (13 speakers + subwoofer in boot) and DAB

speakers are located front lower doors, side mirror trim, side of dash, centre of dash, rear lower doors, rear upper doors, rear D pillars (surround speakers) in boot, subwoofer under boot floor

The standard Alpine head unit fitted to XS/SE spec is not Dolby Pro logic 13:1 surround (no rear D pillar speakers) but may be DAB and I think is either 10:1 or 11:1 speaker set up

the basic unbranded head unit has 8 basic speakers in the 4 doors, no sub woofer and no DAB.

Dab on MY13 cheaper end ICE I think. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

the head units fitted up to around MY13 were Alpine branded and had been fitted since release in 2006 but in 2013 they changed to Meridian head units with a separate display (either just radio info or full nav and configuration)

The OP car is a 2009 HSE so would have the older Alpine system

Again I stand to be corrected as Ive not looked into the MY13> specs as they are way out my price range at the minute

Dangerous how you write and read things. MY13 cheaper end being the basic model cars not the gear in side. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

but I only have FM bands 1 & 2.

I don't think it has DAB but to put the word digital on the FM key is a bit deceiving???

you will know if it has DAB as it will say so on the screen when it boots up, and multiple presses of the FM/Digital button will scroll through to DAB1/DAB2 options

my previous 2 GS models (2007 and 2008 MY) both had the base head unit which also says digital on the FM button. I got all excited thinking I had DAB then cried for weeks when I found out I hadn't
