Help and advise please.

On reversing out of the garage this morning, caught the offside wing mirror on door jamb.Mirror still functions properly but the black plastic underside of the bracket casing broke off and dropped to the ground. (could supply a photo if needed) There is a number inside the casing and I wonder if anyone knows this to be the part number orderable from landrover. Does anyone know how to fit this plastic piece. A fiend of mine with a beamer snapped his wing mirror off completely and they charged him in excess of £300 . Any guidance would be much appreciated. thanks in advance

Unlucky! Picture being a thousand words etc would help... Also what spec is it - powerfold, ground lamps etc as this would impact on price too?

This is the wrong side but not sure which bit of plastic you are on about so may be transferable?

No Need to panic just yet- I was preparing myself for a hefty bill for an o/s mirror after a bus over took me in manchester and smashed it to bits! complete mirror with all elecs and glass etc was only £80 from dealer and even cheaper off ebay, took me 20 mins to fit, only a few screws on door panel and few bolts on back of mirror.

I Have used Q-Bond many times to fix all sort of materials. It goes hard so you can file and drill it. See if you can get yourself some at an auto spare supplier.

its easily done

each time i put the car in the garage i have to close the mirrors.the other night i did that but the following morning i stupidly pressed the open mirrors buttons instead of the window down button whilst at the same time reversing out of the garage hence the damage. a costly mistake .will post the final bill.

Hi retired fitting your new mirror is a bit of a headache you have to remove all the door trim. And the inside grab handle. Trim from around the window and remove the door panel to get to mirror fixings. I did one on mine and got so far I had to carry on
hope this helps

Have you any tips on how to remove the door trim and grab handle. I have removed the old mirror by just peeling back the window surround but it is impossible to reach the electrical connections.
I can only see two self tapping screws in the door trim?
Otherwise it is back to the dealer!
Regards
John
