I've done a few number plate retainers recently via the web site. Find it really easy. I'd give that a try first.

I just gave the whole lot to the dealer and they sorted it all out, just had to sign and that was that.

Yet another FL2 owner 'defecting' to the supposed 'style over substance' of the Evoque.

1) That's now illegal (the dealers tell me). You have to do it yourself. And if you don't then you run the risk of being liable for any subsequent tickets or other offences. 2) Back when it wasn't illegal I did just that. the dealer didn't follow through and the car was still registered to me a couple of years later! Edit: Also, if the dealer doesn't do it straight away you won't get the tax refund until they do! Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone 300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease 200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France FR2 TD4 GS - Gone FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge. |

I've been told that by three separate dealers - two LR and one Vauxhall. Quote from the back of the V5, in bold: "Do not give this section to the motor trader... Failure to tell DVLA may result in a fine or prosecution".

Yes, use the website. Piece of cake with an on line acknowledgment. You also get the acknowledgment through the post. |

Website is easy and you get confirmation that you've transferred the vehicle. Do not send the V5 tear-off slip as well, there is no need. VED refund comes a few days later Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red
