2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Narvik Black

windscreen washer bottle

when i try to fill washer bottle it pours straight out the bottom. can anyone tell me how i access it to see whats wrong. ianrae718

Remove the front right hand fender splash shield (the front part) and you'll see the reservoir and the pump in all their beauty.

this just happened to me this morning, so I'll need to have a look at it. ( strangely enough I was up in Aberdeen over the last few days, wonder if was the frost ? )

ianrae718, how did you get on with yours ? is it an easy task ?

2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Stornoway Grey

Frost could have split the bottle or pushed the pump out of place, thats why you need to make sure its go plenty of winter screen wash in the mix.
It can cause the headlight wash hoses to be forced off behind the bumper too, this will drain the bottle, could be this also.?

It says remove the wheel first but may be possible without doing that, I have not had reason to try it myself.

In my gallery under 'Odds and Sods' are two files showing the procedure.

This can be done easily on the ground, turn the wheel to full right lock and then turn of the ignition. The front wheel arch is in two sections one being a noise shield held on with two plastic 10mm push nuts and either 2 or 3 screws where the bumper meets the wheel arch liner if you have three screws you only need to remove the inner 2, then pull the noise shield off you will then be able two see your washer bottle and either 1 or 2 pumps depending on wether you have headlight power wash, the pumps are easy to dislodge.

My waterwash has stopped working, well it worked once then nowt. Checked the fuses in the glove and all OK, so Alex suggested removing the front fender splash? What is this?

I tried to removed the wheel arch covers, but they are so difficult to get off I dont want to break them

Any ideas to help.
A picture of the fender splash would help. I am a bit of a duffer when it comes to this sort of things, but once I understand what I am looking for I am OK.

He means remove the plastic inner front wheel arch liner under the wing so you can access the washer bottle behind it, easier if you remove the wheel first.
