No reprogramming needed on my 2011. As long as you fitted the same type of battery, which has to be an AGM one for start/stop, it should be fine. I understand a reprogramming is needed if you don't put the same battery type in. If your isn't an AGM, its the wrong battery.

My stop/start is completely random. It doesn't observe any of the criteria needed to operate - ie outside temp, AC demand etc

My stop start operates extremely well, every time I come to a stop if I dont switch the system off, whatever the temperature and it seems whatever is switched on.

Stop/start can be permanently dissabled.

+1 every time I start the car I switch off the bloody thing, can't see you save any money in the long run, just think of all the wear & tear your are putting on the battery starter motor etc Last edited by Jack frost on 27th Feb 2016 8:48 am. Edited 1 time in total |

I guess you can't turn it off yourself very easily for legal reasons as it affects the vehicle emissions and corresponding road tax rates. Having said that, a LR Assist guy told me to just leave the air con on permanently and it should hardly ever operate. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Yep my idea is let it stay like that, who needs all that extra wear and tear. As for leaving the A/C on all the time it will still cut in and out as thats how I run my MY2013. Most times I jump in my car once its started I turn the darn thing off, can't abide it. ![]() |
