New UPVC double glazing - Tiled Window Ledges

I'm having 7 windows replaced which have 10mm tiled window ledges which I wish to replace with UPVC ( golden oak in colour )

anyone done a similar change?

Window companies only seem to want to change the windows and not get involved with the ledges.

any ideas/comments?

Iain

Window companies employ numpties whose only remit is too be quick, use lots of squirty foam and get out.
Find a proper tradesman, a joiner, who can sort the ledges and get them to fit the Windows, the Windows are easy to fit and even easier to bodge and hide the bodge behind plastic strips stuck over everything.

Good advice Taz - there are many companies that manufacture and supply upvc windows. Talk to your local recommended handyman/builder but remember to get Building Regulations approval at circa £80. Some of the textured finishes available today are superior to the standard and not much more - they really look like timber.

10mm or 10 cm ledge? MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

at the moment 10mm tiled ledge. (rosemary tiles )

one of the window companies I have had look at it has suggested changing to a concrete slip Cill ledge and is pricing to do this.
