As i travel 90 miles round trip to work ,i was asking about sealant as a quick fix if needed, lots of non lit roads and in winter can be a bit dangerous,so although i have a full size alloy spare ,i thought it could be worht carrying some ,the nail is in the tread not near the wall a there apears to be no other damage, the tyre is only a few months old .Thanks Rob |

If its in the main tread, not near the corner, it can be repaired.

Hi i have a full size spare ,so if it was in a safe place i would change the wheel, the roads i travel on are very busy motorways, and the m48 doesnt have any lights and a narrow hard shoulder ,given the age of the road ,so just thought to carry a can of holts ,I also have a air pump in my bag in the boot,i was lucky with what i thought was a nail turned out to be a short screw which came out with no puncture |

Make sure it is not a very slow leak over a week. These are more painful in the long term if not fixed. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
