New car on the way..... so time to move the Freelander2 on. We Buy Any Car are currently offering £12,500 for my July 2010 HSE 53k miles. It is in excellent condition and tyres still have 5k miles on them, so there's not much they could find fault with legitimately.

£12,500, sounds like a very good price to me.... your thoughts?

My brother in law has just got £9000 trade in at the LR dealers for his March 2007 HSE in Black, 43k on the clock.
Have you tried trade in with the dealers too or do you want to go shopping with cash in hand?

The new car is being funded via a different route, so I can't part ex in the usual way (well, I can, but a few dealers have already told me they'll give trade price which is a fair bit lower than £12.5k).

Don't forget that however "immaculate" your car is, WBAC and their competitors will still beat you down on price.

There'll be no haggling or arguing over the condition with them either. Once they've knocked off £50 here and £75 there, there'll be a new figure which will be take it or leave it.

They bank on the fact that you've made the trip and are standing there having wasted your afternoon, and won't drive away without selling it.....

That said, as long as you're going into it with your eyes wide open and have a reasonable expectation of a number you might be happy with, their cash is as good as the next persons....

Sounds almost too good to be true. Couple of weeks ago got 9k trade in for a 2010 60 reg GS with 78k miles p/x against new Mitsubishi. Condition irrelevant, the guy just got in and started it up and said OK, didn't even walk around it. LR dealer offered the same as a trade in value. Later found the car via eBay motors at a 4x4 garage forecourt for £12.5k. It will be interesting to hear how you get on. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Parkers have a trade in value at around 12.5K for a 2010 HSE.

A good indicator is find some cars like yours for sale on dealer forecourts and then take 3k off that price..that is the maxm trade in.

I'd have expected a LR dealer to give you between 11 and 12 if you're not buying from them..unless there is some snow on the ground in which case you'll get 13

Before you go to WBAC or any other what is the minimum you will accept as you will be lucky to get 12.5K..have you any tiny dings, scratches in the top coat, scratches on glass, scuff on plastic trim inside, scratches however light on the door mirrors, rusty nuts etc etc

...and they will quite often take off an admin fee...... Usually about £300

I think you will be very lucky to get what they offer you online It better to laugh than cry

I priced mine up out of interest, and 2 days later I was notified that the value had increased from from 15,500 to 15,625, and at the end of the 7 day period I was sent a further 7 day offer, without any notification of a price increase, of 15,750.

So, if in no hurry, perhaps wait a few days and their offer might increase.

I sold my Disco2 TD5 to WeBuyAnyCr*p.com - as others have said they will beat you down on anything. The agent has a target reduction to achieve, as they go straight to auction where they will get trade price, so the profit they make is from that discount ( and the bank transfer fee!) FL2 11 S Black 😂
