Ha, I've just gone through this with my latest purchase. (its a GS as well). I took it back to the dealer, and the salesman tried the voice activation, and was stumped. So straight to the service desk, who pulled up the build spec, and there it was in black and white, 'Less voice activation'

Years ago my wife bought a new Fiesta L and I immediately noticed that only the driver door speaker was working. I rooted about and found a plug/socket that wasn't connected so I plugged them together and voila, the passenger door speaker burst into life. A few days later I happened to be getting a fuel and the salesman came out to ask how was the new car. I said fine and mentioned the second door speaker not working issue and how I had fixed it. He just smiled and said you only get two door speakers if you have the GL model but the difference was that the plug wasn't inserted, he went on to tell me a couple of other features that were already in the car but needed similar treatment. Of course, nowadays it's all activated by computer menus. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
