I had Egr issues on a previous vehicle with the Egr not opening and hence putting the Eml on , the vehicle was very eager and had plenty of go when required. When i came to sell it i had a brand new Oe quality pierberg Egr fitted to solve the Eml light coming on , sadly the car wasn't anywhere near as smooth or responsive . Get it blanked off , Egr's and Dpf's are the work of the devil .

EGR lowers cumbustion temperatures by diluting the oxygen in the cylinder and absorbing extra heat, which is how they reduce NOx. For this reason, they shouldn't function until an engine is up to temperature, so an increase in warm up time should be the last thing you see. Naturally, removing the soot from the engine can only be of benefit in terms of wear and longevity and my vote ismost certainly to blank! Can anyone who has done this confirm if blanking the EGR cause engine light to come on in the dashboard? |
