i'm tempted to go roof mounted soon as I may need a roof box, some wise words of a mate said to me one day, better to have £3k of mountain bike on the roof, that the towbar for some numpty to rear end you and write the bike off and the car

get the roof mounted rack that holds the bike upside down then when you go into an underground or multi storey car park the bike wheels will just roll |

I dont have roof rails or roof bars, so I'm looking at one to fit on the tow hitch. I had roof bars on my last F2, and used to put them on the roof, but I also had side steps which helped, but not on this one. (I hated the side steps to be honest). |

All depends on price. I would advise against a roof mounted as I went under a height restriction in a new Mini Cooper s, trashed the 2 k bike and compressed the roof pillers almost writing the car off. Get a rack where you can see the bike so you know it is still attached. Also I jarred my back a few times with the roof mounted, you need a third hand when it's windy. I have used my atera strada hundreds of times now and it operates as new still. But for two bikes you may wish to spend less. |

As well as my mountain bike we have two e-Bikes (getting on you know) which are heavier than your average bike so I use this beasty which is a doddle to load/unload and allows access to the tailgate when needed (Thule 9152)
