OK, so the latest thing (in a long line) to go wrong with my wife's 2007/57 FL2 is the Haldex.

Hi - No, it's hardware. LR sell a part which allows a Gen 4 to be adapted to replace a Gen 3. But seemingly almost no-one knows it exists. It isn't easy to find and doesn't show up on most parts searches etc. But, if you know it's there and / or know the part name or number (not sure exactly which) - it can be found and ordered from LR. I believe it is then relatively easy to swap over and fit. |

Its funny cos according to Microcat, LR014073 matches my car, but in fact it didn't. Alex, you saying that GEN 4 only matches GEN3 cars with vin between 8H999799 to 8H999999?

Good luck. I don't think LR make it easy to find or even to find out about! |

Thank you. I just don´t see a reason for LR to hide this information to their costumers. |

OK, just to share here what happened: I replaced my GEN3 haldex with the GEN4 part number LR014073 and all commands for terrain response went faulty. So I took the car to the dealer and at first the computer was not recognizing the new part. What they did was trying to update the ECU software using an older machine which has recognized it and it is now everything working perfectly fine. Costed me nothing cos the car was already scheduled for maintenance services. So lucky... |

It's possible that the new Haldex ECU, being a "service only" item, to come blank from the factory and to need to program it anyway with the right software.
