FOB battery recharge/replace

Hello all, another newbie question for the experts. I have 2 key fobs for my 2012 (2013 My ) FL2 and when I get in the warning comes up "smart key battery low". So, a couple of questions please, do they recharge or do I need to replace ?
I've looked on previous threads where there is talk about soldering irons ! I would hope to avoid that ( haven't got one to start with) Embarassed
Your help would once again be very much appreciated.
Thanks,

if yours is the 2013 facelift, with the revised dashboard and electronic parking brake, then I think you can change the battery easily, although it should still charge in the car.

its the older style block keys that need to be prised open carefully and the battery de-soldered in order to fit a new one.

I doubt if the "keyless" ignition keys "still charge in the car" you would need a pretty hefty induction loop to charge a key that could be positioned anywhere in the vehicle. The older ones will only work because they are very close to the coil. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

If car is 2013 MY and is not a slot in key. Also has electronic handbrake.
Fob battery is a C2032 which is very popular and is easily changed in a couple of minutes. Slide off chrome cover and use emergency key to prise open key. All detailed in handbook. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

I changed mine at the weekend as I was getting the message! My batteries came from IKEA. Easy job and all well now! 1998 300TDi Auto Disco, never to be forgotten.
