Disco sport radio problem.#

Hello to all you Disco Sport owners.
I have a niece with a Disco Sport which she loves.
She is not very car minded, This replaced a FL2 and her partner still has an FL"2
She has a small problem with the Disco Sport.
Whenever she goes to start the car the radio is on automatically even if switched off from the last drive.
Can anyone help me with this. She just wants to use the radio when she likes, not when the Disco likes.
I have a disco 2, which doesn't have these fancy electronics,
Look forward to the answers and thanks in advance
She also stays 200 miles from me or I would have had a go by now.

Being a Fl2 forum DS owners are few and far between.

I had one but never turned the radio off. Sorry can't help Thumbs Up

With all the little annoyances on the DS I found it easier to sell the car and go back to a brand new dated D4 with dated technology that works. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Thanks J77. Reason i asked here is that so many FL2" owners have moved up to Disco Sport and i thought would still look at the FL2 forum.
Personally I look at ALL the LR forums, always find something.
Will keep looking

cheers

It's a 'design feature' on Disco Sport and currently there is no option other than for the radio to come on each time you start the vehicle.
On the one we've got a work we've taken to turning the volume down to zero which stops the radio being heard and seems to also turn it off.

Richard, that's a bit to work on. I am old enough to remember being told to shut everything down at night.
This to maximise battery power to starter, particularly in cold weather.
Thanks

Further info

On an American LR
forum there was info that there is a software update which will sort the radio problem.
Push your dealer as the usual "they are all like that" will be trotted out.
Hope this helps
