No puddle lights in front doors

Dear freel2,

My car does not have any puddle lights in the front doors.

Can you help me? What can I do? Is there someone in Western Australia who can fix this for me?

Thanks

Puddle lights are in the door mirrors arent they? the ones in the base of the doors are kerb lights and these you can have to shine the Land Rover logo on the pavement if you so wish?
If you dont have them I dont think its a case of just putting some on the blanked out slot, theres no wiring for them either?

Oh and Im told the under dash lights are "Is that dog muck on my shoe" lights Laughing

LOL - Cambo!!!!!!
Ok firstly a lesson people's!
Approach Lamps ....... These are in the side/wing mirrors.
Puddle Lamps ....... These are in the door card at the base of the door.
JLRA were kind enough to delete these from some Aussie build vehicles because someone thought that Approach lamps
were good enough and JLRA management needed to pay for the "shrimp on the BBQ" for their next business lunch.
Anyhow, this is really easy.
You will need to buy the lamp which is really inexpensive.
Wiring is not present if you don't already have them but this is no problem as the wires come directly from the door control module. On both driver and passenger plugs this is position 3 and 14.

Above is the OE wiring that I salvaged from my donor door wiring loom which I needed to get wiring and pins for my next completed project, DAB OE retrofit, which btw is about the be completed. I printed off the plug positions, available by subscription from Topix. I also used the spare plug from the donor harness to put pins in correct positions before I got to the
door module just as a second "check" to the plug schematic as it's quite small. In reality it's really hard to get pins in wrong as there is few spare places. This one was for the driver door.
The passenger door offered a different challenge as I had to build my own loom from my
donor loom being careful to match LR specification for wire thickness.
"Cambo" to the rescue as the plug that plugs into the puddle lamp is a very small female pin of which
I'd exhausted my supply of and is quite a rare, well in wiring loom terms Laughing pin used.

Std female pin is on the right (door module female pin) and puddle light female pin on left with puddle light plug
Beside.
After this it was just a matter of extending the wires with the correct terminated ends for puddle lamps and door control module pins - easy!

Unfortunately I couldn't match colour codes so I used heat shrink shield to one of the colours listed on each lead for identification when installing.

Next was to test before putting door cards back on!

Cambo and I had already edited my CCF to enable the puddle lights which is what anyone else wanting to do this will need to do to get the puddle lights to work!
And not wanting to confuse people any further but the field in CCF is actually called "Front Door Warning Lamps".
The finish result!

Special thanks to Cambo for help guide me through my CCF and few bits which may have been hard to aquire. Cambo and I have/are spending a lot of time looking over my CCF at the moment and we hope to share some exciting discoveries with you soon.

We have the perfect climate for a sunroof it's main purpose is to let the natural light in and give the cabin a more airy feel.

JLR has had a number of issues with customers in Middle East, Australia, Africa (basically anywhere with a sun in the sky) constantly requesting vehicles that have a sunroof/panoroof as standard to be deleted from the factory order at the customers request as its simply to hot and cooks the everything inside the cabin. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

I see, I thought approach lighting was when the headlights and tail lights come on as you walk up to the car after unlocking, as mine do?
Or is that see me home lighting?
Or have they done that instead of puddle lamps and door card lamps?

In my efforts to add the projector type lamp to my 13MY FL2, I find there is no wiring in place so its not a 5 minute job.

For the benefit of anyone looking to do this in the future, the part numbers for the connector at the lamp end of the harness are as follows. I have bought both from RS today;

2 way socket housing, AMP, MQS series, TE part No 1-1718333-1
Female pin for the above, 0.5 to 0.75mm wire, TE Part No 1-968221-1

The connector is part of the MQS series which is super common in Automotive.
The wire gauge is shown in the harness diagram as 0.75mm with a length of 340mm between lamp and door ECU.

If i figure out the pins for the door ECU i'll report back here.

For anyone looking to do this mod to their FL2, this is the CCF change I've made to mine.
