Reduced performance + amber engine warning

Driving along M25 on Friday night, engine suddenly goes into "reduced performance". I stop at the next services and stop and restart engine etc, makes no difference. Decide to carry on and a short time later the amber warning light comes on as well. I eventually get to my destination travelling at about 45mph and call LR Assist to arrange visit next morning. When the guy arrives the amber light is still on but the performance message has gone. He finds a code P244A-96 and says it's OK to drive so books in to a dealership and arranges hire car etc. The next day both messages have gone and car appears to be OK.

This car had a similar problem 4 months and 4k miles ago and two exhaust gas sensors plus a DPF hose were replaced. What can be wrong with this heap of Censored this time? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Maybe that hose they replaced was not properly inserted or is cracked?

Just had a call from the dealers to say that they have replaced the DPF pressure sensor and I can pick it up in the morning. It's one of the parts already changed 4 months ago so have replaced it under parts warranty. Doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.

Oh well at least I have had the experience of driving a 3.2 litre auto Mitsubishi Shogun loan car provide by JLR as they couldn't find anything else! I certainly won't be buying one of those, the handling is awful and reminiscent of my old Vauxhall Frontera.

I have two months of Extended Warranty left, I can either spend £800 on another year or put the money towards a replacement vehicle. Must start looking. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
