Sounds a bit steep, the most I have paid is about £350 for an A service and £450 for a B service. The 90k 6 year is a big one since they are supposed to change the brake hoses.

I think all new LandRovers have the option of taking out a 5 year servicing plan for £499 nowdays. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Really? That's less than £100 /service. You couldn't buy the oils and filters for that. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

One imagines that the true cost is already built into the price of the new car... The £499 deal looks good and it ties the buyer into the dealership network.

Get some quotes from independent LR specialists and other main dealers.

"Really? That's less than £100 /service. You couldn't buy the oils and filters for that." The catch is that they have moved to two-yearly service intervals on all the ingenium engined versions. That's just two services! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto Present: Audi A3 S Line. |

when I put my last FL2 into Stratstone at Nottingham it was 6 years old with 64k on the clock but needed the 90k/6yr service. I read up on what was done and saw the brake hoses were included. Service cost was £399 on collection when I asked if the hoses had been done the service rep said it wasn't part of the service and would cost £700 extra to replace them, however mine didn't need doing. He wouldn't agree to change them even when I showed him the print out I had saying they should be. |

Interesting, I got a quote for a 90k/6yrs from Salisbury LR and they quoted about £740 which they said was high because it would include the hoses. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Third year service technically includes changing the brake fluid, at extra cost. However I don't think anyone has come across a garage that has done that. If asked, it's usually "checked the fluid and it's not needed". There should be no other work required apart from the MOT test.

My third service has just got done with Team Valley LR and it was about £170. Oil + oil filter wasn't included as oil had been changed very recently, they charged about £140. They have also changed new driver's seat belt and plastic top, tyres re-alignment as car pulled to the right (they swapped tyres side to side before), fixed driver's door squeak. All done under LR warranty. The drone/whinning noise will be fixed in April when car needs first MOT.

This was back in September. I am not sure if it was a special offer or not Steve |

I have just looked at the bills, the oil changed was £124.93 in September and the 3rd service was £170.50 in january so the total for the 3rd service should have been £295.43 this included air and pollen filters which actually not required for A service and had been replaced in the B major service. To be honest I am happy with their service. |
