Message Center Dead +

My fathers 2010 fl2 is playing up in this cold weather.. failed to startfor 3 days in a row, got boosted to life from recovery vehicle. I know hees an old man and doesnt drive that long journeys anymore, i put the ctek on last night, and we tried to start it today with battery fully charged.. it allmost started @the end.. lots of allmost firing and then dies until the battery was flat.
I put a 12v charger / Booster on it and gave it a good crank with the glow cycle everytime. it started on the 10th try.
Hdc fault Transmition fault, enggine fault came up in the message Centrer and cleared right away, No faultcodes stored but low battery faults.. Now the Issue is.. the there is no background light anymore on the Ipac at all. but on the radio and all the buttons are working. strange issue.. then i had a glance at the fuel gauge.. it was empty, it wasent that before we tried to start it allmost half a tank of diesel is on it.. Then the Message center died completly.. nothing happens when i push the I button on the stalk. So just for the heck of it i connected the IIDTool and commanded the ipac to show full tank, but operation failed.
tried to command 100% speedo and rpm but both gave operation failed. I then quit..

Does this require me to command my dad to visit the dealers??

I know the glowplugs needs to be replaced.. that was the first thing that came to mind when he called me and told me it failed to start..

I'm no expert but I'd be inclined to replace the battery and possibly the glowplugs.

Nothing is working on the instrument cluster?
There is a fuse for the instrument cluster, if it's completely dead, check the fuse. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers

What is the outside temperature when you have trouble starting the fl2?

I had same issues at -5 centigrade few weeks ago when it would struggle to start, I then used one of these lithium battery boosters which made a huge difference in getting it going. The next day I replaced the battery and it has been perfect since, so if the battery is past its best it may need to be replaced especially if you are using the car in the cold.
