Hi all

I have a 2010 HSE, im looking at a few various parts on a well known auction site (light guards etc). How can I tell if mine is should we say one of the last pre facelift models or one of the first facelift versions?

the biggest most noticeable difference is in the front bumper and the tailgate handle. Front bumper is as in the pics above.

the facelift grill is higher up and narrower in order to line up with the headlights.
the facelift tailgate has a full width handle with a chrome strip across it.

mine is a Jan 2010MY pre facelift, I think the facelift came in late in 2010/early 2011 as there some 60 plate pre facelift about.

just seen your pic and its a facelift version (unless previous owner has changed the bumper)

yep, plus yours is and SD4 as opposed to TD4.

The SD4 only came in late 2010/early 2011 with the facelift.

like your alloys BTW...... fancy a swap ?

lol unfortunately i like my alloys to, only thing with them being 19"......bloody pain finding AT tyres, hence the new shiny Wranglers

im guessing yours is the MY11 but on a late 2010 plate. All manufacturers seem to do this so you end up with a mix and match.

ive got the standard 18'' HSE alloys on mine, I really like them as they suit the car but do like those 19'' ones. I had GG AT tyres on my last GS with 17'' wheels but my HSE is running Pirrelli Scorpion Zero's fitted by the dealer and they are nice and quiet and seem to grip pretty well.

It doesnt matter whether it is a 2010 or a 2011MY, it is a Facelift car. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Wonder if anyone has converted their face lifted one back to a pre face lift?

if you want ill do a straight swap on front bumper, tailgate handle and front/rear lights with you

Many did this with MGB's which make them more desirable and did increase the price, not sure the same with an Freely for the next 20years but one never knows  my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
