Tyre choice confusion - help please!

Hi All
I have been reading all the threads on tyre choice but am still confused so hope you don't mind me asking a question about tyres. I need some new ones and the choices are mind boggling. My car will have 98% road use and go up and down the M3 once a week. Occasionally it will need to pull a boat around and up a slipway or go onto a field to park, but I mainly want it to be safe and quiet on the road, so I feel that I will be best suited to pure 'on road' tyres? Can anyone offer a suggestion of the best performing tyre in the wet that won't cost an arm and leg please? I have 17" wheels and currently 235/65 fitted.
Look forward to any help. Thanks.

Hi

I've been going round in circle for ages deciding on road or all terrain. Then after deciding on road tyres which manufacturer of road tyre.

To be honest there is that much info it gave me a headache. I went for Goodyear Wrangler all weather all season in the end. Seem great so far but it's only been a few days. 2010 HSE SD4 in Santorini black

Four tyres @ £90.00 each!
Where was that?
Cheapest I have seen is £116.00 each. Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

You won't go far wrong with either of the above tyre choices. I opted for General Grabber GT's. A little more expensive but worth every penny in my opinion. I wouldn't put anything else on mine now as they are road biased but have proved excellent in both the mud and snow.
