Gearbox problem - 5th and 6th gear noise

Hello

I am now experiencing quite high noise and slight vibration on gear lever when driving in 5th and 6th gear (manual) 4th is silent (direct ?) at same and higher rpm. Car driven 211.000 kms. Anyone with same problems ? Cause ?

Thanks for suggestions.

clutch and Dual mass flywheel going ?

my first FL2 did this but only in 5th/6th and if you put your foot down hard on the accelerator pedal in those gears the revs would increase as the clutch slipped.

We have had two Freelanders that developed a similar gearbox problem. Started as a rattle when going into 5th and then it wouldn't stay in 5th. Dealer tried adjusting the cables (there is a procedure for doing this using a couple of clips under the gaiter) but it made no difference and eventually a gearbox rebuild was carried out. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
