People on the forum have fitted a replacement grille - it doesn't seem too difficult and involves some plastic welding. However the old one has to be cut out and might not be reusable. If you search for threads where people are upgrading to a later model grille/bumper you will probably find the info you need. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Has anyone looked into replacing the fog lights units with some small diameter spots? There are some very small LED units which seem to be aimed at the motorcycle auxiliary lighting market. Some are really expensive admittedly but others more reasonable. Sort of thing I've been looking at are things like these Denali DR1 http://www.twistedthrottle.com/denali-dr1-...-light-kit or these from clearwater https://www.clearwaterlights.com/products2_pp.html

Not cheap, admittedly, but it's clear (haha) that LED lighting is coming on leaps and bounds. Those that are 88 mm diameter are probably a bit big and the 51mm ones maybe a bit small. Have a hand held torch for dog walking that makes my FL2 lights with 4*Osram NB positively dim, that's only 2*900 lumen LED compared to the 2*2000 lumens of the small Clearwater Darla units.

Wondered what folks thoughts were. Think I have read most of the other threads on this around here.

Obviously wiring would be sorted to comply with lighting regs, though might ignore the max output elemnent of UNECE regs. :cough:

Have been following a great thread over on the TV Chimaera forum on Pistonheads, where a guy is methodically doing a headlight conversion for LED H4 bulbs, which seems to be a fantastic output. 3400 lumens per bulb vs standard about 1000 lumens, before you even consider the state of the reflectors, a TVR failing.
