I read earlier that the line up has been announced

Chris Evans - DJ Radio Host and a bit Marmite
Sabine Schimtz - Queen of the Nuremberg Ring and sort of OK in a 3 pint sort of way
David Coulthard - F1 boring but more piazza than Mansel
Chris Harris - Who? Journalist of some description

So this line up doesn't fill me with the greatest feeling of hope for the new season of TG I really can't see Evans and Schmitz gelling like Evans & Gabby did on that Breakfast show they did and the others ain't going to bring the laughs that Clarkson, Hammond and May did occasionally

Is it turning into a straight laced motoring show with proper reviews or are they going to try be funny Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I think the lack of humour and chemistry will become just as monotonous as the constant messing about and lack of reviews when Clarkson and co ran things. They were very funny but it did get a bit predictable after a while. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I'd hoped Schmitz was to be a presenter, she has a sense of humour and is as fearless as Clarkson. My only fear is that Evans is just too happy, you never got cheery from May, Hammond or Clarkson - Evans needs to be made to watch 'grumpy old men' for a couple of years first, just to turn the happiness knob down a few notches. Yeah, the originals would tell you what was great about a car but would spend most of the time moaning, and even when JC smiled he still looked like Wallace!
Still looking forward to it though!

It will be interesting to see how well top gear does against the Amazon show. Personally I think if the top gear show keeps the same format as the old shows it will fail. I will give it a try, I watched the old TG out of habit and hoped something good would be on , but 99% of the time I was disappointed as it was mostly  Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Oh dear, that's a pretty Z-List lineup

I guess it was always going to be difficult to recruit people to join a show that most people think will be worse than the original. With that pressure anyone with a half decent career would avoid it like the plague, so I'm not surprised that it's a lineup of nobodies or has-beens.

What worries me is whether there is anyone in that lineup to counter Evans's over exuberance otherwise he'll just get on my t**s and I'll stop watching; the same reason I don't listen to his Breakfast show.

Regardless of what they do on the new show, nothing will ever match the sight of Clarkson and May driving across the Arctic snow, sipping a Gin and Tonic

BBC is skint, the show will be rubbish, DC is in the line up just to give him something to do, F1 has been dropped so he's unemployed and I am sure he will need the money
I also think the new Netflix program will be crap, three tramps on track being daft, without the BBC shackles it will be OTT and nothing more than a platform for the three of them to keep having a cheap jibe at their former employees, acting stupid and being allowed to swear a lot.

I'm quite looking forward to what might be a sensible show. The old TG was well past its sell-by date, with infantile antics that were just plain silly most of the time. The original line up was not Clarkson, Hammond and May it evolved as will the new series, I suspect Jenson Button being re-employed by McLaren threw a spanner in the works, as it did for his soon to be ex wife, yep the first series will be a mix mash and again will evolve. When you dump or lose ( whichever your opinion) the full cast reinventing the wheel without it being round is difficult my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
