Thank you for that. Will have a look tomorrow, I have read on here of people putting aditional earth from battery to gearbox bolt??? |

It all sounds ignition related, check all connections to battery, starter motor, alternator, maybe replace/ charge your key battery. Then maybe the key slot plug area? MY2011 Freelander 2 GS Santorini Black

I had the very same problem with my 2007 Freelander 2 it was cured by a software update to the instrument panel.

Ahhh this happened to mine a month or so ago about 4 times, has not done it sinse though
