Alarm bleeps

I recently upgraded my old Freelander 2 (08 vintage) to a more recent (14 plate) Metroplis. It's a really nice can with loads of great improvements... But...
The alarm / central locking is behaving odd. I've turned off the setting to bleep when locking but the car still bleeps between 2 and six times ( in multiples of two bleeps) when unlocking.
Just had the rear amd front offside door latches replaced under warranty as these were faulty when purchased. They wouldn't allow unlocking of the door from the inside ( not child lock related). The garage said the bleeps were probably miss lock warning but they returned with a few hours.
Anybody else seen this weird behaviour? The doors, fuel flap and tailgate are locking ok. Might try sitting in the car and double lock to check the parametric volume sensor isn't at fault

I looked for a bonnet switch and couldn't find one. I'm guessing it's Integral to the one of the two release catches as per the tailgate?

Just found this post http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic24574.html?highlight=bleeps
Interesting it talks about the internal movement sensors, that was my suspicion. Just about to go and try the sit in the car test. If there are no further posts from me it also means the dead locking also doesn't work Very Happy

This is a well known software glitch!
Beeps twice single entry beep 4 times on all door entry.
Go to your LR dealer there is a software patch to stop this.
Some just say to a hard reset by disconnecting battery and leaving for everything to discharge and then reconnecting.
You'll find it will just return.
Mine has been fine since the patch was installed into BCM, dealer advises me it will never return. MY15

Really helpful to know that, only wish the dealership staff were as helpful. Going back to visit them this afternoon.
Interesting part is the Landrover Approved used checklist that lists what they do before saying the car is an approved used vehicle mentions software updates. But then again it also mention check that all doors function correctly and I had two that didn't. Initially we thought is wa the child lock but turned out to be the release cable in the door. And then the front passenger door which once locked couldn't be unlocked from the door. The driver door had to be opened first.

Agains many thanks, we still have faith in the Freelander 2 and question why landrover ever stopped making it.

A hate saying this but the dealers really have no idea, generalising but true. They really are more concern with selling them and taking money off you for servicing.
But! If you have a little bit of knowledge then you can save yourself frustration by just telling them!
This is a well known software patch and if they don't know about it, tell them to find out while you are there in the seat!!!!! MY15

I just checked my first service report and it just say "carried out software upgrade BCM" under alarm sounding on single/all point entry! There's no reference to bulletin, but it's in Topix Thumbs Up MY15

Just checked my software version, and it shows the following:

Overall software version: 4662_140611
FPGA version: 0600D033

I'm guessing the date on the overall version is 11th June 2014? Meaning surely it must be out of date and the source of the issue of the annoying bleeps.
Have been to dealership and demonstrated it to the service advisor. He initially said it was normal, so we then played the game of, push the lock or unlock button and tell me how many times it should bleep. Wish there have been some money involved in this little game. Needless to say it didn't go well..
Going to try searching on software version numbers now to see if anyone else is reporting a letter version.

Excuse my language! - your service advisor is obviously a "moron" contact LR assist tell them
You have this issue, service advisors has no idea (moron) ask them to supply you with a Topix bulletin number and give it to your service advisor and instruct him to do it!
So disappointing!!!
Btw, E Mode Menu is to do with Infotainment systems network operations. MY15

Yep I'd go with that as a fairly to the point description. I'd have probably (and at the time did) use more words than that, but hey I don't charge by the word when describing things, unlike the garage!

Noticed your btw about E mode menu, thanks didn't realise there was a difference. Assumed the car had an overall software system and revision level. But I'm guessing each sub system has its own revision? If so is there an easy way to read for system that control the central locking / security?

You'll need a diagnostic tool that plugs into the OBDP to access vehicle systems. Why are you needing to access central locking? I think it's accessed through the BCM, not sure actually off top of my head. You know you can access door locking from the driver configure screen on your dash! MY15

I was hoping to get some idea what version of software was controlling my cars central locking / alarm system, ref the crazy number of random bleeps I get when licking and unlocking the car.
The setup menu gives me the option to turn these bleeps off but it appears to have no effect.
