Been a lot of rain today in Brighouse, parts have been flooded and the local ford is flooded. Came accros this photo today on Twitter, posted by a Mr G Tyler of a Range Rover that somehow became stranded and had to be towed out by a Discovery.

You will have to get yourself to Tong Garden Centre instead then and get a Christmas Tree. A nice 7 footer will fit nicely in the back of a FL2 even with 4 adults in as I found out today although the top bit where thee fairy goes was rubbing against my ear (no comments) |

I got a 7 foot tree on my FL2 last week. Was very impressed with how much room there was in the car. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

That photo was taken just after the level had dropped 4 feet though, you couldnt see the car an hour before. |

last week a BMW X3 drown out in a flood near us. I decided that such a car could drown in a puddle and set of through in my ford ranger. Interesting trip the back end started floating it was bit deep

Although there's no accounting for the drivers ability, it's surprising how powerful even shallow water can be. Once drove a fully equipped Defender into about 12" of fast moving water which rotated us through 90 degrees. All due to smooth rock and not enough grip. A very interesting 5 minutes! L322 can wade through 700mm as per the Disco. The L405 can go through 900mm.

Do insurance companies pay up in situations like this if it's obvious that the driver was being rather optimistic? |

No I don't think the water level had dropped, there's a Facebook post with a video attached of the recovery of the RR and it looks like the driver of the RR nearly steers in into the wall. I think in this case it's a case of driver error!! Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker. Gone MY2010 Freelander 2 Manual TD4.e S, Alaska White. |
