I've had the same they said it's because they're behind with orders due to black Friday, seems to be taking a long time to catch up. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE

The thing is people can understand that but all they need to be is totally honest with you. if they have b**ls it up then just admit it. For two days running I have been blatantly lied to by DHL. At dinner time I rang Euro Parts who contacted DHL who told them it was out for delivery. Just chased it up directly with DHL (7pm) and they were going to see if they could fit it on a run as they deliver until 9pm.

They don't deserve your business!!!

Daughter chased it up at 7pm and again at 8pm (remember not having a car is a life altering thing lol). At 7pm it was explained that they are having to use 3rd parties to deliver stuff and they aren't as reliable. At 8pm the woman was adamant it would still be delivered as they deliver to past 9 and she explained they are scheduling home deliveries after 6pm for customers convenience.

You've guessed it - it never arrived although a bit of me was happy as I didn't fancy going out at 9:30pm to fit a car battery.

8 Shipment on hold LEEDS - UK 21:07

The day before the status had been:

7 Shipment on hold LEEDS - UK 20:37

Anyway she has chased it up again today and we have assurances it will be delivered before 12. We shall see

So the saga continues. Battery arrives and I fitted it today getting p***ed wet. Car starts first time. Pat on the back.

Took it for a spin seeing as it had been stood a week. Mile down the road and I'm putting it into 2nd when, yoive guessed it, the clutch goes. Well I'm assuming the clutch as I can select gear but it wont engage. Managed to free wheel it few hundred yard.

The clutch will go fully up but won't engage so wont drive so I am assuming its the clutch. Am i right? If it is then the car is off to the scrappers

Anyway didint have my phone on me so had to walk 1.5 miles home and got wet again.

Must say I am very impressed at the towing capabilities of the FL LOL

Clio is a cable clutch as far as I know, might just be a snapped cable or its become unhooked??

What do you mean " it won't engage" if you mean select a gear let the clutch out and the car doesn't move, then that's unusual, normally you get slipping first. I would check that you haven't lost a driveshaft, much cheaper and DIY. put the car in gear without using the clutch, if you get a crunching noise the clutch works, if you don't don't it's the clutch or 1st motion shaft, then £300+ or gearbox out on the drive how's your back in this weather, knees seize as well Laughing my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

If I put it in gear and let the clutch fully the car is still idling but there is just the slightest bit of bite. Not enough to get te car moving though. The car doesn't stall either. If I rev the engine I dont get any movement either

Will try the gear thingy when it stops rainig Laughing Laughing

I've had two clutches go on my old Clio - the springy fingers (technical term) lose their springiness and so no pressure on the clutch plate. Tricky to change, but it can be done without removing the engine.
