I had a 4 springs and shocks replaced on my Freelander at 79,000 miles cost me around £600 as car was feeling very twitch on cornering at 70mph on the motorway. The rear spring were found to be weak due to the stress of towing. We also found a weeping front shock absorber. We also had to refit the rear springs 3 times as land rover superseded the rear spring seats and springs to a poorly manufactured ones which caused the rear springs to twist then slip out of place which then ment they contacted the inner arch. This created an awful rattle noise whilst travelling above 20mph. Land rover substituted the rear springs to a newer modified ones which has a longer lower coil so they lock in place.
