LR Nut, how do you apply your foam? Thinly or thickly? Does a full litre bottle on your foam lance cover your car or do you need to top your bottle up?

I add approximatley 5 or 6cm snow foam and then top it up! Yes a bottle covers the whole car just. Sometimes though I will snow foam her twice as it makes it worth while when cleaning the foam lance bottle with hot water etc to ensure the mesh filter does not clogg up Thumbs Up MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

I will try spraying the foam thinly then, I've probably applied it too thickly. I'll see what happens at the weekend. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

I use this stuff

Jet wash car first, get rid of most of the dirt, then sno foam, leave it 20 minutes, if there is still a traffic film, I sno foam again and whip round the car with a mitt, rinse and job done.

Dont you foam under the wheel arches?

They weren't dirty, don't waste it Laughing

I put about an inch of snow foam liquid in the bottle then fill it up with warm water. On the wifes car (coupe) I put the foam on very thickly and the results after jet washing are very good.

On the FL2 if I want it thick it uses about the whole bottle to do the lower half of the car, if I do it thinly I don't get the same results as my wifes car. Im probably better off applying it thinly and keep topping up the foam on the car.

I need some more snow foam so i'll pop down to the place where I buy it from and try a different brand and see what they say. Im not too far away from a company called Clean Your Car, they are an internet car detailing company so they should be able to offer some product advise etc. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Would you recommend the Karcher Snow Foam lances ( which dont seem to have big bottles ) or a compatible one?

I purchased this one

cant fault service, price, or quality. It works perfect, and is well made

In fact it looks identical to the one above for Karcher - just different attachment

England 2013 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Auto Sumatra Black

On Friday I purchased 5 litres of Valet Pro Neutral Snow Foam. With the last of my old snow foam I cleaned my wife's car and mine. The wife's car was slightly soiled as she doesn't do a lot of mileage. After I foamed it and jet washed off the suds the car looked pretty clean and I was in two minds wether to wash it with a mit or not. Decided to use a mit and make sure it was clean.

The guy at Clean Your Car gave me some advise about my foam lance and this time managed to cover my entire car with out running out of foam. So I gave it a good covering.

My car was filthy but the foam brought loads of dirt off.

The photo below shows part of the door after letting the foam dwell for 5 minutes then being jet washed.

So all in all a good car cleaning afternoon, shame it started raining! Next cleaning session I'll use my new snow foam. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

The advice given was just basically adjusting the valve on top of the lance, this adjusts how much concentrate is added to the mix. I turned mine down. I still got plenty of thick foam and was happy as I could do the whole car and still have some left over to top up the foam on the car.

Also, the fella at clean your car told me how some people like to foam there car, rinse and then foam again. One other tip he gave me was after foaming and rinsing the car, go over the car again with a product such as citrus pre wash in a hand held pump sprayer, then rinsing the car down again with a jet wash. Ive got some of the stuff so I might try this next time I wash my car. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
