Can anyone tell me if it is really necessary to remove the glove box to access the passenger compartment fuse box? There is a plastic cover in the footwell under the glove box which may give access but I'm reluctant to pull things apart unless it's really needed.

You're correct. I've just replaced fuse 52 and getting the retainer/damper back in place was a real pain and involved scraped knuckles and expletives. However, after all that (and despite what the handbook says) I discovered it is perfectly possible (on MY14 at least) to replace the fuses by leaving the glove box alone and simply detaching the plastic cover in the footwell, which clips back in easily. |
