Inhad Xenons on my Audi, but my Passat has Halogen and they are shocking. Xenons were not an option, only LED and I would have had to pay for them myself. I wish I had now.

Current FL2 is my fourth FL2.
Up to 2011 facelift headlamps had 4 H7 bulbs, reasonable and improved with high performance bulbs.
2011 facelift had projector headlamps, totally useless and very poor on dip. 2x H7 and 2 x H11, upgraded bulbs made little difference to a poor design of lamp. Dangerous on a dirty wet night.
2013 on uses single filament HB3 bulb and is far the best of non Xenon lamps. Dip especially is a vast improvement. Unfortunately the Night Breaker upgrades I bought from Ebay were possibly fakes, am waiting on +110% from Halfords as I have used their upgraded bulbs successfully 0n previous cars. All FL2's (3) Gone

couple of questions.......

looking on parts catalogue the light units seem same for HID or halogens, is that correct ?

Also is there any difference between LHD & RHD drive units ? Is there a lever to change direction ?

There is definately a difference between LHD and RHD xenons on the facelift. They are different part numbers. I'm sure it has been discussed before that the later xenons do not have a lever to change the beam. driving on the right side

You won't get any decent/upgraded Xenon bulbs from Halfords, but swap them for 6000k jobs and it makes all the difference
