I'm no expert but if the car is jacked up and the wheels turn freely with no noise and the front ones don't make a noise when turned it should be ok,like I said I'm no expert but many on here are and welcome. |

Just a point, but if the calipers are extremely close to the inside of the wheel rim they can clear when cold but when heated up after a period of long braking they can expand enough to rub believe it or not, because Ive known that happen.

So feeler gauge out and a whole 3mm clearance at the tightest point. I would be interested to hear from S owners or those with similar wheels fitted to determine if this is normal just so I can sleep at night

I would say anything more than 2+ mm is ok then, heres a quote from an alloy wheel supplier.

I recently removed my 18" summer wheels and fitted 16" winter wheels I also noticed the clearance with calipers was less but after a few thousand miles I am not so concerned

Thanks Landiroamer and Joe. I'll keep an eye on it, but from your replies it all seems normal. I got a text from the guy who I bought the wheels from as well confirming that the fitment was "neat". |
