Bought a tool to remove the oil filter housing, should it be very tight to get off. Just don't want to break it |

Not sure about LR but would imagine its the same, but the filter housing top on the new MINI is given a specific tightening torque when you put it back, ignore this at your peril, because if you do it by feel, thats about right sort of thing, and overdo it, you'll never get it off next time.

It has an o-ring seal at the top, which, if not properly lubed when installed, it's pretty hard to unscrew...

It is tight, a right mare used a 27mm spanner but had to take the large pipe off in front of it, thinkits the super charger pipe. Then its fairly easy. Lost some skin off the nuckles though. |

Never had to take anything off, but I always loose some skin off the knuckles, no fun unless you don't get any battle scars! |
