Do they break that often we all need to have multiple sets of these?

Ive never had a headlight bulb blow in 40 years and only one brake light bulb in all that time.
Vehicle bulbs are extremely reliable Ive found unless the quality control has recently just gone down the pan??

I bought 2 sets one for the Dipped beam and one for the High beam as they are supposed to be better at night then the standard bulbs are as dipped lights are poor whilst driving across Dartmoor. I don't want to become one of those annoying fog light driver who always seam to drive with them on. Whistle

My side light bulbs seam to go Black quite quickly replaced 2 sets this year alone.

I bought a set on EBay last night for 13 quid, shame I didn't know about the offer then I could have had new bulbs fitted without having to wait for the eBay ones to be delivered. Sad Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

I found my night breaker plus far better than the origional bulbs. One blew the other day and from what I've read the other will probably go soon. I'll see what the new bulbs are like when fitted. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Not much good if they keep blowing though are they, they must be running too hot and that shortens their life considerably?

I fitted mine around 3 years ago, I know these bulbs are classed as an upgrade so not sure what the life expectancy is for these? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

I now carry a spare bulb and 10mm spanner. 2013 models have HB3 single filament bulb with shutter for dip so when bulb goes you have neither dip or main.
Positive side it is a vast improvement on projector lamps on 2011 facelift. They were dangerous. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

OSRAM Night Breakers fitted to dipped beam 13 months ago, first one blew yesterday. Was going to fit to main beam but never got round to it as the increased light from dipped+main was good enough.

Not convinced these are the best option to fit if the lifespan is so short, on the other hand 13 quid or therabouts is a (relatively) small price when night vision is much better.

Fitted Nightbreakers to my 20011 (HB7) dip, lasted 2 1/2 years until I swapped it in for my 2013 model. Fitted Nightbreaker unlimited (HB3) as soon as I purchased it and these have been in over 2 years as well. Bought from reputable source, good improvement and longevity.

I fitted two new ones this week. Back of the packet suggests the life expectancy of the bulb is around half the life of a standard bulb.

Still for the money I think they are a good purchase. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
